Bruce Mason Centre: Cassie Henderson – The Lightning and the Stars Tour

April 23rd, 2026

Cassie Henderson is a New Zealand pop artist with sustained chart dominance, international momentum, and a proven ability to convert attention into long-term audience growth. In 2025, Henderson reached the finals of The Voice Australia, earning a four-chair turn and gaining 300,000+ new followers, before executing a data-led post-show release strategy that translated broadcast visibility into streaming and catalogue growth. Following the finale, Henderson released three covers from the show, including Teenage Dirtbag, which surpassed 400,000 Spotify streams in its first month and debuted at #2 on the NZ Hot 20 Music Chart. Rather than remaining in covers, she redirected momentum toward original material with the independent EP footnotes, released on Christmas Day. All four tracks charted on the NZ Hot 20 Music Chart, with Bad Teeth (#5), Pity Party (#6), and What Happens Next? (#7) overtaking the previously charting covers. Pity Party also landed on New Music Friday Global and Tapestry, including playlist cover placement, alongside measurable growth in monthly listeners, saves, and international listenership. Henderson first broke nationally with Whatever, the lead single from her debut EP The Pink Chapter, which held #1 on New Zealand radio airplay for 12 consecutive weeks, the longest run by a New Zealand solo artist since Lorde. She followed with Seconds to Midnight (11:59) from The Yellow Chapter, which held #1 on airplay charts for 15 consecutive weeks, making Henderson one of only two female artists in over a decade to achieve multiple 10+ week #1 runs. The success of The Yellow Chapter earned her the 2025 Aotearoa Music Award for Best Pop Artist. A commanding live performer, Henderson has headlined nationwide tours, played main-stage slots at Rhythm & Vines, Rhythm & Alps, and Homegrown, and supported international artists including Alex Warren, Lauren Spencer-Smith, and The Driver Era across Australia and New Zealand. Backed by a three-piece band, she is known for delivering rock-leaning, high-energy shows that retain a sense of intimacy at any scale. With her trilogy project The Chronicles of a Heart Broken approaching completion with the highly anticipated forthcoming Blue Chapter, Henderson is positioned for continued international growth in 2026, including U.S. live dates and writing collaborations across the U.S. and U.K

The Glass Menagerie is an intimate and quietly devastating portrait of a family living with hope, frustration, and unspoken longing. As memory softens and distorts the past, moments of tenderness sit alongside regret and disappointment, creating a world that feels deeply personal while still being instantly recognisable. A landmark work of twentieth-century theatre, The Glass Menagerie established Tennessee Williams as one of the great voices of twentieth-century theatre. It won the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best Play and marked the beginning of an extraordinary career that would go on to shape modern drama. Frequently cited as one of the most important American plays ever written, The Glass Menagerie is studied, revived, and reinterpreted not because it is a classic, but because it continues to speak with honesty and compassion about ordinary lives under quiet strain.
