Bruce Mason Centre: Kevin Bloody Wilson F.U.P.C NZ Tour

September 29th, 2021

The outrageously funny KEVIN BLOODY WILSON returns to NZ in September, bringing Kiwis another side-splitting dose of his original fair-dinkum Aussie humour, supported by Jenny Talia from Australia. Since releasing his first hugely popular album Your Average Australian Yobbo in 1984 and hit songs like 'Hey Santa Claus', Kevin Bloody Wilson has become a comedy institution around the globe. Considered the world’s funniest Australian, as dry and as rough as his Outback heritage, Kevin stands out as a beacon for PC pushback in a world almost drowning in a tsunami of Political Correctness. His latest stage show, F.U.P.C, is no exception, spotlighting Political Correctness for what it is and how Kev sees it – a big giggle crafted in song – guaranteed to have you belly-laughing at subject matter you’re not supposed to be laughing at. Social Justice Warriors and PC Advocates are invited to stay at home, but the rest of you are welcome to enjoy a knee-slapping, hilarious night of Kev’s common sense take on Political Correctness. R18 restriction applies.

Award-winning and treasured Kiwi-South African comedian Urzila Carlson returns with a brand-new show, It’s Personal, hitting nine towns and cities around the country. Welcome to the days of mind your own business and don’t comment on others' business. Not their gender, sexuality, body, hair, education, or career. Also, welcome to the days of total oversharing on social media, but STILL, mind your own business. We want to talk about things and want everyone to know IT’S PERSONAL! This is a show about keeping your cards close to your chest but walking around naked. Can we have it all? Yes, but also bloody no but also it’s none of your business because IT’S PERSONAL. It’s Personal arrives hot on the heels of Urzila’s Netflix hour-long comedy special Overqualified Loser, recorded in Melbourne in December 2019. Urzila also cleaned up the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2019, taking out the MICF People’s Choice Award for most tickets sold across the festival. The PumpHouse: Rangitoto

The PumpHouse: Rangitoto

October 21st, 2021 - October 27th, 2021

RANGITOTO – the premiere season of a new play by Geoffrey Clendon. Rangitoto is set in the bach community on Rangitoto Island during the Great Depression. It is a comic drama with all the tension and humour arising from the interaction of two families, a local eccentric and a Māori boy on holiday determined to have a good time but who, at the same time, are unable to avoid the larger social forces at work in the 1930s across New Zealand. Rangitoto is a professional production presented by the newly formed Te Huringa o Te Tai Turning Tide Charitable Theatre Trust whose aim is to tell stories of Aotearoa New Zealand, particularly those of the Hauraki Gulf. Rangitoto will be a high-quality piece of theatre that engages the audience in reflecting upon not just a unique place on Auckland’s landscape, but also questions of who we are – what we may have lost, and what’s still worth fighting for.

The Guilty Feminist Live-Bruce Mason Show

Bruce Mason Centre: The Guilty Feminist Live

October 23rd, 2021

Less of podcast and more of a global phenomenon, The Guilty Feminist, hosted by Deborah Frances-White and featuring world-class guests, is part comedy, part deep-dive discussion, and part activism. Examining our noble goals as 21st-century feminists and our hypocrisies and insecurities that undermine those goals, The Guilty Feminist has had a spectacular 90 million downloads in five years. Deborah has brought the show to Australia and New Zealand on several successful tours and is bursting with near hysteria to come back and be with her Antipodean guilty feminist crew after a year-and-a-half of London lockdown. This is the show that proves you don’t have to be perfect to be a force for meaningful change. Come join The Guilty Feminist live and be part of this joyful movement. "I’m a feminist but I’m planning my sequinned outfit for the opening night of my Australia/NZ tour before I’ve planned the content. I can’t wait to be back down under where audiences know how to bring a rock concert to a feminist podcast recording." Deborah Frances-White “Hilarious, irreverent, eternally surprising, classy as hell genius. They always have fascinating guests, don’t pull any punches, and are screamingly funny. It’s shows like this that breathe life into conversations about feminism… Everyone is talking about them talking.” Phoebe Waller-Bridge, The Guardian “The Guilty Feminist is essential for the planet” - Emma Thompson “Hilariously relatable” – Channel 7 News Australia “The blockbuster feminist podcast everybody should be listening to” - Sydney Morning Herald “Very funny… pure, guilt-free pleasure” – The Guardian “Genius” - The Sunday Times Hurry, understandably, this will sell out!
