Farrell’s Music House
It’s a musical institution! Takapuna’s been rocking with Farrell’s Music House since 1979. This independent store is the spot for all your musical needs.
Buy a new or used instrument, rent one, or get yours repaired by an expert. These folks are the reliable pros who’ve seen it all and can do it all.
Top tip: The best time to learn a new instrument is now. Try renting before you commit to a new sound.

Florienne

This cute wee store brings some real class to the main drag. Florienne is a florist and floral design studio with a true artist’s eye. The window displays are textured, nuanced, and completely captivating.
And if you need something unique for someone special, these special someones will arrange an arrangement just for you.
Top tip: You can buy yourself flowers, whenever you want. Try ordering them in advance and adding a personalised note to your future self.

Top tip: Take a moment to chat with the trainees. Your order might take a little longer but that’s part of the charm.

Takimi Mazesoba

You’ve got that ramen craving, but the chain stores just aren’t hitting the spot. We know what you need. Takimi Mazesoba specialises in seriously good mazesoba (brothless ramen). These ramen bowls are made with chewy, house-made noodles.
The menu offers a wide range of options including savoury meat dishes and vegetarian meals. And don’t skip dessert – the Matcha Daifuku (soft rice cake filled with sweetness) is calling your name.
Top tip: Add an onsen egg (poached) to your dish, or choose soft boiled or raw egg yolk.
