Takapuna Library: Book Launch – The Spirit of a Place by Sarah Ell

Join us for a special evening celebrating the launch of The Spirit of the Place: A New History of The Elms Te Papa Tauranga — a beautifully illustrated and deeply insightful new book by acclaimed journalist and author Sarah Ell.

One of our most important heritage sites, The Elms Te Papa Tauranga, has borne witness to more than 600 years of significant and, at times, turbulent history — a place where rich Māori history and early missionary settlement converge. Author Sarah Ell reveals its secrets in the beautifully illustrated The Spirit of a Place, providing a window into the broader story of Aotearoa – colonisation, resilience, relationships and remembrance.

North Shore journalist and writer, Sarah Ell, with 13 books for adults and children to her name, will be in conversation with local journalist and writer, Angela Walker.
