Takapuna Beach Summer Days Festival

Takapuna is your ultimate summer destination with the Takapuna Beach Summer Days Festival on Saturday 23rd of January at Takapuna Beach Reserve.

This event is FREE and open to the whole community, so bring your friends, family, and loved ones along and celebrate summer with us.

Starting at 10am, bring the kids over and enjoy a wide variety of family entertainment, from clowns and magicians, to giant games, to bouncy castles and beach activities! 

This year, our Face Painting will be sponsored by the awesome team at Simpson Western, who will be taking gold coin donations for their charity partners: Race4Life

From 3pm until 7pm, jam with amazing artists as they perform your favourite hits on stage – we are delighted to announce this year’s lineup of quality Kiwi musicians:

 ð“𝐎𝐁𝐈𝐀𝐒 – former member of Katchafire, House of Shem and lead singer/guitarist for Sons of Zion. Now with his solo career on the rise Tobias is set to rock the world once again with his debut single "One Love" due to release on November 6 2020 and debut album to follow shortly after. Pop, rock and roots infused with powerhouse vocals and melodical guitars, will be the sound of Tobias as he creates yet another legacy to last through the ages.

 ðƒð€ðˆð‹ð˜ 𝐉 – an Indie/Psych band based in Auckland, NZ. Comprised of three brothers and a blonde dragon, they’ll bring the positive vibes to your ears.

 ð†ð„𝐎𝐅𝐅 𝐎𝐍𝐆 – Geoff Ong wants to be a pop star for dorks. With 5 songs landing in the Top 5 of the Official NZ Music Charts and consistent radio airplay across New Zealand’s commercial hit music stations, it’s clear that there is big love for Geoff’s quirky brand of pop music.

Dust off those jandals, grab some takeaways from the 150 different hospitality outlets in Takapuna, or the food trucks on site and get ready for a brilliant summers day.

The festival will also include delicious food trucks, free bean bags to relax in and of course our beautiful beach and reserve.

Encore Theatre Collective is proud to present a dazzling new production of Seussical The Musical, based on the immortal works of Dr Seuss. Seussical brings to life many infamous and well-loved Dr Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Mayzie La Bird and, of course, the Cat in the Hat. These characters and stories weave together in a whimsical and wacky musical extravaganza, played out against an uplifting score, and highlighting the show’s universal messages of love and acceptance – reminding us all that “a person’s a person, no matter how small.”

Since launching in 2019, Encore Theatre Collective has made an incredible mark on the Auckland theatre scene and redefined the standard of youth theatre in New Zealand. Hot on the heels of their sold-out season of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, the June season of Seussical features 120 of the country’s finest young talent, ranging in age from 9-23.

With spectacular choreography, unbelievable production design, and slick vocals, Encore Theatre Collective’s Seussical The Musical is the theatrical offering of 2021 that you will not want to miss!
