Auckland’s newest rooftop bar is coming to Takapuna Beach!
Waterbourne is bringing a unique experience for people this summer on Takapuna Beach during the Waterbourne beach festival. The Long White rooftop will provide two levels for the public to eat, drink and dance as they watch the sailing and music
from the shoreline.
More than 300 people can fit in the Long White Rooftop and will enjoy a unique food, ice cream, and beverage menu, including their own bar. Additional to this we will have a range of special guests and shows specifically for the rooftop.
Event organiser Laurence Carey has said Waterbourne is the only event of its kind, involving everyone with a passion for the water

Andy Ruzich is the owner of Regatta Bar, which is directly behind the new rooftop bar, and has said:
“I have been hoping to do something like this for a long time, and there is no better time than during the America’s Cup”
“Waterbourne has a core focus to involve businesses, and that is evident by their operating hours (finishing at 9pm), ensuring people can then enjoy the local bars like Regatta”

Waterbourne is New Zealand’s biggest beach festival, which will be part of the Auckland Unlimited’s Summernova Program, designed to wrap around the 36th America’s Cup presented by Prada. The Long White rooftop bar will be ready for the public on the 27th of February and will remain on Takapuna Beach until the 21st of March.
Waterbourne will also have food available for those in the rooftop area. With three different food styles over three weeks. The three food styles available are:
- Americano food week from 28th of February till 7th of March,
- Kai Moana (seafood) week from 8th of March till 14th of March,
- Italiano food week from 15th of March till 21st of March,
Satisfy your taste buds with some delicious food on the long white rooftop bar. Alisdair Gribben, from Marque Hospitality, is head of food operations at Waterbourne, and has more than 30 years of experience owning restaurants all over Auckland has said:

To provide a summer feel, Waterbourne has partnered with Tip Top Ice Cream to ensure guests get a very unique experience. Marketing Innovation Manager, Chelsea Dawson, has said:

Laurence has also said
“ The opening day will be very special where we will have a day focused on Maori culture, with all musicians and dance groups being Maori. Additional to this we will have a hangi pit on site for everyone to try traditional food ”
With 11 music events being held at Waterbourne, more than 30 acts will be performing. The Long White Rooftop is a premium viewing area for all of the shows at Waterbourne with the rooftop bar only being 15 meters away from the stage. Waterbourne will also be hosting 4 ticketed music nights, where you can purchase VIP rooftop tickets. With an amazing view of the stage, you’ll be able to experience performances from SACHI, Dave Dobbyn, Paige, Kings, Tami Neilson, Ria Hall, Hollie Smith and so many more amazing acts all from the VIP rooftop bar at Takapuna beach.
