ANZ and Grant Elliott help Takapuna Cricket Club hit a six
Talented, cricket mad youngsters from Takapuna Cricket Club couldn’t believe their luck after ANZ delivered their sporting dream today – a one-on-one coaching session with International cricketer Grant Elliott.
Thinking they were scheduled for a normal training session this afternoon, the Takapuna premier team were shocked to have ANZ ambassador and former BLACKCAP Grant Elliott turn up and give them some tips and tricks on how to hone their cricket skills and improve their game. Along with the surprise coaching session, the boys will be seeing how it’s done as they cheer on the BLACKCAPS at Monday’s match against Australia at Eden Park.
The boys have only been playing together for the past year and were nominated by their current coach, Tim Clerke, “The boys dream is to win the championship this year and being coached by Grant Elliot himself was such an incredible experience for them. He’s really inspired them to take it to the next level and hone their cricket skills – bring on the championship!”
Sue McGregor, ANZ Head of Sponsorship and Corporate Marketing said: “We are proud to have been supporting cricket at all levels from grass roots to elite in New Zealand for 19 years. We know that sometimes all you need is a little of extra help to achieve your dreams. “The Takapuna Premier team are so passionate and committed to their game, we wanted to help the team to achieve their dreams, with a little bit of inspiration and knowledge from Grant.”
ANZ is fulfilling cricketing dreams across New Zealand again this summer as part of its Dream Deliveries programme, providing an opportunity for cricketers of all ages and levels to have their own cricket dream realised.
