Our History
Named after owner Kevin Schwass’ Irish grandmother, Florrie McGreals was first established in 1993 as part of the Poenamo Hotel until relocating to its current home in Hurstmere Road in 2009
A typical neighbourhood pub with staunch locals and ultra-friendly staff “The Irish” is regarded as the perfect place to meet friends or make new ones.
Our Team
General Manager Patrick BARCOE (PJ to most) is a born and bred Kilkenny lad who has been behind and managing bars for over 25 years. He has an innate understanding of the hospitality industry, the local Takapuna community and has recently completed his Guiness Masterclass with the Head Brewer of the Guiness stores in Dublin.
He is ably supported by Lilly, Ruarc and a passionate team of duty managers.
Our Chef
Head Chef Joseph Wamoto is Kenyan born and London trained. With over 15 years in the culinary industry, Joseph is not only super enthusiastic about the quality of his food, its presentation and flavours, he strongly believes in the importance of supporting local suppliers. The Village Butcher located in Hauraki Corner has been Florrie’s supplier of gourmet sausages for over four years.
